Land Terms and Definitions

Summary: There are many terms and Definitions, used to describe an available land for events, rentals, leases, and so on. Some Term Examples are listed below, these are used in both open sims and second life, (virtual allies to one another)

1. A region: A Region is a section of land or lands, within your Virtual Grid. This section of land can be either an island, mainland, or homestead for examples.

2. An Island: very similar to real life, an island is sectioned off from the other mainland and homesteads. Its surrounded by ocean water and may or may not have local map neighbors, regions, or islands.

3.  A Lot: A lot, is a common term for real estate, for Mia, its a subdivision within the Region, mainland, or Homestead, itself.

4. A subdivision: Is a common term used in residential areas.  For Mia Jonita, we have a special meaning for it already. It represents small or large lots within our Island, Homestead, or Mainland. Our Land Lots will be a mixer of Business and Residential.

5. Beginners and Grid Locations: For beginners, this will only happen with them; if you get confused about where you are located vs Mia Land. The next 2 years will shift a lot of virtual players into land renters or owners. Pretty hard for both  second life or open grid estate owners and developers to get confused, *your work ethic speaks volumes.* However, Second life and Open Sims, are two separate worlds with similar life styles. The Lands are separate and maps as well. If you buy or rent, a land in Second life; but look for mia on the map. That's pure estate confusion. We would have to be owners in Second life, as well. Currently, we will began renting in SL first. Within 2-3 years from now, we may balance out, however; our websites will be clear and visitors will understand grid locations.  Our "World" just gives immediate space and room in open sims. Hope that makes sense, just a head start in virtual learning.

6. Worlds: In short, Virtual Worlds, are hosting grids within a platform.  In terms of SL and OS, we are never in competition, another tip for beginners starting off. Most experts and veterans, host, play, and social, within many worlds, lands, and rentals, before reaching the top of their online success ladder. Most experts host different time schedules, according to their business years and virtual years, so always keep the 'unlimited' in mind, there are many factors to success.

a. (Our favorite Example She began with 10.00 a month, premium and stayed active online)

7.  Top Veteran Examples: Celebrity Anshe Chung.

According to Dr. James Cook of Linden Lab "Anshe adds significant value to Second Life".

In February 2006 Ailin Graef legally incorporated "Anshe Chung Studios, Ltd." in HubeiChina with her husband and business partner, Guntram Graef, who goes by the pseudonym "Guni Greenstein" in Second Life.

In November 2006 Chung announced that she had "become the first online personality to achieve a net worth exceeding one million US dollars from profits entirely earned inside a virtual world"

Meanwhile Anshe Chung's business employs more than 80 people full time, most of them programmers and artists. She counts several Fortune 100 companies among her clients as well as high profile organizations such as the government of Baden-Wuerttemberg and Lifechurch.TV, whose Second Life entry her firm developed.

In January 2007 Anshe Chung Studios received venture capital investment from the Samwer brothers who purchased a stake in the Anshe Chung Studios

In September 2007 the Gladwyne Partners, who had previously funded the Electric Sheep Company, also obtained stake in the Anshe Chung Studios.

Since 2006 Ailin and her company have been active in IMVU, a 3D avatar chat. She has since been operating the largest currency exchange and content creation business for that platform with about half of the 100 top selling products in IMVU originating from her company in Wuhan, while a considerable amount of the remaining top sellers are said to be coming from people who were originally trained in her company. During Ailin's involvement with IMVU, that service's userbase has increased 50-fold, outgrowing Second Life in late 2007

In 2007 Ailin Graef and the Anshe Chung Studios were chosen as a "New Champion of the World Economy" by the World Economic Forum, describing her company as a business with a major technical or economic impact and the potential to become a Fortune 500 company within the next 5 years

From 2005 until January 2009 Ailin Graef also owned a 30% share in Virtuatrade, a Pennsylvania based company operating the site XStreetSL.com, a virtual goods trading site similar to eBay but specialized in Second Life items. She and her partner finally sold the company to Linden Lab in what was Ailin's first successful company exit. XStreetSL has now become an integral part of Second Life

In July 2008 a new portal site called AnsheX (Anshex.com) has become available, operated by her company in Wuhan. The new site is merging services, communities and currency exchanges of several monetized virtual worlds, attempting to bridge the gap between them.

(Hope that helps, we are building more mia sites for our fan and student awareness.)
